Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company was formed in 1970 for the sole purpose of protecting the Township residents from the devastation of the destruction of a fire. Made up of strictly volunteers, the fire company has grown to more than just a fire company, responding to motor vehicle accidents, brush fires, down power lines and natural disasters, just to name a few.
The fire company provides a shelter for residents when a natural disaster hits the region. Since we are a volunteer company, fundraisers are needed throughout the year to provide monetary support. Some of the events we conduct each year are The Sportsman’s Bonanza, Pancakes with Santa, and The Valentine’s Comedy Dinner Show. We also offer a beautiful banquet hall, The Washington, where you can host your next special event. Controlled open burning is allowed in the Township only when permission is granted by the Fire Chief or Assistant Fire Chief. All residents are encouraged to obtain a copy of the Township Burning Regulations, which can be picked up at the Township office or viewed on the Township website.
Volunteers are always welcome! Volunteering with the fire company is an awesome way to give back to your community. We are always looking for men and women to join our team. All training is provided at no cost to you! Social members are also welcome to participate in fundraising efforts. We meet every Monday night at 6:30. Please stop in and see us.
