Trash & Recycling Trash Curb Collection
Trash collection will occur once a week on Wednesday. Place no more than a maximum of five containers of trash at the street’s edge anytime after 6 P.M. the night before your scheduled pick-up day.

Bulk Item Collection
One (1) bulk item out with your trash on Wednesdays.

Items NOT allowed
Appliances/items containing Freon, electronics, car parts, oil based paints, hazardous materials, tires, and construction materials.

No Construction or Demolition Debris!
We do not pick up concrete or construction materials, such as roofing and other home remodeling debris. You will need to make special arrangements with J.P.Mascaro & Sons or another waste hauler to remove this debris.

Recyclable Items To Be Collected
Recycling collection will occur every other Wednesday, depending on where you live in the Township. See next page for more details.


What To Recycle?

  • Glass (clear, green & brown)
  • Steel, aluminum & bimetal cans
  • Plastic & plastic containers no greater than two (2) gallons (i.e. large laundry detergent container). Plastic bottles used as containers for soda, milk and other consumable food products and for certain household cleaning products and personal car products are acceptable.
  • Newspapers (including inserts: comics, ads, etc), junk mail, office paper, magazines, cereal boxes, junk mail, and envelopes should be placed in paper grocery bags or tied in bundles.
  • Cardboard and corrugated paper. Please flatten.

Holiday Collection
In weeks containing a Holiday, If your collection of trash and recycling falls on or prior to the day of a holiday, your service will take place ONE DAY LATER THAN USUAL. If there is a holiday then your service day will be Thursday. All collection schedules will return to normal beginning the Monday of the next week.

Holidays are as follows:
New Year’s Day (January 1), Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day (December 25).

E-WASTE Alert!
Solid waste disposal facilities in Pennsylvania no longer are allowed to accept covered devices such as televisions and computer devices including hard drives, monitors, keyboards, mouse and printers or their components.

No Hazardous Wastes
Car batteries, gasoline, motor oil, pesticides, oilbased and other toxic and hazardous materials DO NOT belong in the trash!

Visit www.northamptoncounty.org for information on disposing of these materials. Many auto stores accept used motor oil and car batteries.
